Great news, after all our hard work, we not only raised awareness for Shine – we hit our target and raised a whopping total of £757.69!

Special thanks goes out to everyone who done their bit on the bike on the final day of awareness week- it was no easy challenge but I think it’s fair to say, the biggest challenge was for Matt Taylor. Matt cycled 160km from Stewarts in Reading to Woods in Leicester in 5 hours 55 minutes! Well done Matt, we are all very proud of you!

Raising £757 is a fantastic effort and could pay for 8 school visits from their education advisor who is experienced in training staff to ensure that a child with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus has a smooth transition when starting school. It’s a scary time at four years old, starting school and being without their priary carer every day, all day. When you have complex medical conditions as well, this is increased. Their education advisor ensures that this process is as smooth and as easy as possible.

Thank you once again for your kind donations! If you would like to read more about Shine and the work they do, please visit www.shinecharity.org.uk
